gun and other articles, the property of Mr Taylor, of Waitotara. After the evidence of Mr Taylor and a native witness had been taken, the prisoner was committed fir trial. Westport, November 30. Eugene O’Conor and John Munro were nominated to-day for the Roller election. The show of hands was in favor of O’Conor. Waimea, November 30. At the nomination for Waimea to-day the show of hands was in favor of Mr Joseph Shephard. Mr James Crowe Richmond demanded a poll. Motueka, November 20. At the Motueka nomination to-day the show of hands was in favor of Mr Hursthouse, the numbers being Hursthouse 28, Gibbs 6, Huddlestone 5. A poll was demanded by Mr Gibbs. Reefton, November 30. The nominations book place at noon to-day at Inangahua, when the following were proposed Messrs Thomas S. Weston, Richard H. Reeves, and William M‘Lean. A poll was demanded.
