PROTECTION FOR CLAIM.

[to the editor.] Sir—Your report of the Warden's Court proceedings relative to the application of O'Brien and party for protection and M'Mahon aud party's objection thereto, in statiDg " that protection was granted and an injunction" of &c, is slightly un ace urate, although not through any fault .of your rep»rter, >as judgment was not fully entered up while he was present. The order made in the matter is satisfactory to both parties, and refers to the claim held by O'Brien and party under certificate No. 18690, cancelled on the 6th September, 1881, against which judgment an appeal has beeu lodged. The order made yesterday was aa follows : " You and each of you parties to this case are hereby enjoined not to work upon or in, or in any way interfere with the double-area claim aforesaid, until the 30th day of November next, to abide the event of an appeal by the defendants. This injunction to remain in foil force and virtue until the said 30th day of November next j unless the District Court has given its decision in the meanwhile, or the defendants have withdrawn the appeal; and on these contingencies the injunction to be void. (Signed) H. A. Stratford. Warden."

By inserting the above, you will oblige—Yours, <fec., D. HANNAN, Agent for M'Mahon and party. Kumara, 6th Oct., 1881, -— : ♦
