BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, September 16. The Irish Land League Convention now sitting at Dublin has passed resolutions declaring the intention of the Land Leaguers to oppose any attempt to carry out the provisions of the Irish Land Act until ail the prisoners now in custody have been released. Paris, September 16. Telegrams are to hand from Tunis announcing that the inhabitants of that city are suffering from water famine, owing to the recent destruction of the aqueduct by the Arabs. Further telegrams report that, the Bey contemplates resuming the sovereignty of the principality; but the statement requires confirmation.
LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
Sydney, September 17. No fresh cases of small-pox within the city or suburbs have been reported to the Board of Health since Tuesday last, 13th. A further number of persons who have been detained for some time in quarantine have now been released. Melbourne, September 17. The police are still without any clue regarding the notes to the Value of £2500 missing from the Bank of Victoria.
