NOTICE PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage o\ his Majesty the Xing of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General foi Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions froni the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th Match, 1878. We are informed that dealers iii medicne often try t’o sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against thd public in. such a case is concerned, the consequences would not he serious • but as the qualities of both of the pro l ducts are in many cases directly : op l . posed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention, to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to. bh of value, as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of Secondary nature, and manifests a drawing-, blistering effect upon the skin; Any blistering brought oh by the application of a medicament must in l crease inflammation; and it is therefore evident that in Cases of wounds, colds; bronchitis; diptheria,. croup, sprains; &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unques l tionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth o£ our assertion, is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resiuouS. product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight. Our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves; soothing and healing in its effects, its price being : twenty-fonr shillings for one pound weight. Onr extract; the genuine article, is only made up in one halfounce arid one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark arid ’ signature; . : SANDER arid SONS; Sole Matiiifac* turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured .solely by Messrs Sander and Spns,' Sandhurst, recoin-r j mends itself by the following declaration and testimonials Epitome of declaration made- before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17tb October, 1877, at Sandhurst :—“ Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr. Raabe, of Iron bark, for nine; weeks, and declared that amputation of the ; injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and, by the application of the same be had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight r out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts : from the Bendigo Evening News Mr Gieschen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, antU could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same, gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cored after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident. did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. . Mrs • Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Ruunymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed arid trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Greek, brought information of a cUre of- delirium caused by sunstroke, which place in the family of Mr Ryan, bri&her, of Back Creek. ‘ The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M‘LEAN, . - Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
