Mr W. A. Barton finished his work yesterday at the R.M. and Warden's Courts, Kumara. He has obtained leave of absence till Monday, when he commences similar duties at the Courts at Greymouth. Mr M'Ennis, his successor here, arrived yesterday, and has already commenced his official work at the R.M. and Warden's offices. Mr Tom Kenrick, so many years connected with the Greymouth Courts, left yesterday to enter upon his new sphere at the Lyell. The Kumara Agency of the Union Bank was closed yesterday at noon, and shortly after that hour Mr Bennett, the local manager, took his departure for Hokitika. The gold, notes, books, safes, and all other chattels were removed at half-past ten o'clock this morning, for the same destination, in one of Mr Rugg's coaches. Mr A. R. Petrie, the accountant, left today, by the mail coach, at one o'clock, also for Hokitika.
