Wellington, August 31. There was a caucus to-day of stonewallers, and opponents of the Representation Bill were present and accounted for 32 determined resolutely to oppose, the Bill.
Sir G. Grey made an effective speech last night, and advises a dissolution to settle the dispute.
The Premier replied and used strong language.
Mr Seddon took up the running and strongly protested against the language used. He siid even the stonewallers, with the grievances under which they labored, would not so far forget themselves.
The House was counted out at 12.30 a.m.
It is rumored that the Speaker will to-day, on his own authority, close the debate, and refuse to hear further discussion. This will further complicate matters. Things are now so mixed that it is impossible to forsee the ending.
