The overland coach, with the mail, arrived at the Post-office this afternoon at 3.25, The northern mails were despatched by the tram at 3.30. The civil case Way v. Accetti was further adjourned yesterday at the R.M. Court till the 29th inst. James Davidson, a miner at Orwell Creek, was killed yesterday by an iron chain running through the pully over the poppet heads, striking him on the head. Deceased (says the Argus) was a native of the north of Ireland, was 45 years of age, and leaves a wife and five children. His life was insured in the Mutual Provident Insurance Company. The s.s. Murray met with an accident to her machinery in going over the Grey bar yesterday morning, and had to signal to the Lioness to tow her in, which was done. The accident consisted in the bursting of one of the boiler tubes, Mrs Langtry has re-appeared in London society, and wore at a ball given by Millais a dress of gray gauze trimmed with gold, cut to the waist more or less.
