London, August 17, Parnell has issued a manifesto, in which he announces that he will continue his agitation for the redress of the grievances of the Irish tenants after the present session of Parliament closes, when he will visit Ireland and address the people at various places. A t the same time, however, he recommended that a fair trial should be giwn to the working of the Irish Land Act, which has been passed by Parliament. Washington, August 17.
The latest bulletin reports that President Gaifield's condition has slightly improved. He is still tumble to take solid food, hut has been able to swallow some beef tea, with which it is hoped his strength may be maintained. Aden, August IS. Intelligence is to hand from Mauritius, reporting that the ship England's Glory, which lefc London ou May 7, for Kelson, has put into Port Louis for
repairs, and to re-stow her cai-go, part of which had to be thrown overboard at sea.
