GOLDFIELD WATER SUPPLY.
An emergency meeting of the Watersupply Committee was held at Dillman’s Town last Tuesday evening ; the following members were present —Messrs Leslie, Kettle, Agnew, Dungan (in the chait), Reynolds, F. Barrowman, Wheeler, M. Barrowman, Morris cy)The Chairman stated that he had forwarded without delay, both to the Mayor and members of the Borough Council and the Chairman of the Prospecting Association, the special resolution adopted at their last meeting. One of the matters of importance was then considered and finally dealt with. The following telegrams were read at tlie meeting ; ToR; 0. Reid, Esq., M.H.R., Wellington. Water-Supply Committee forwarded petition to Wellington on Monday last. They interviewed Mr R. J. Seddon last night. He promised to have it presented by you to Parliament; The committee reckons on your best assistance ; the prosperity of the district depends on its success. P; Dungan, Chairman. Kumara, July 8, 1881; The following reply was received : To Mr. P. Dukg(an, Kumara. _ Will present petition qii Tuesday, and give the _ matter my utmost attention, knowing its importance to the prosperity pf the district. R. C. ReiDj Wellington, July 0, 1881. The meeting then adjourned.
