NOT I C E PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUfI GLdiBULtJS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the iting of Italy \ at Borne, according to communicatidn received from the Consul-General for Italy, at upon instructions from the Minister for f'oreigd Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers ii£ medicne often try to sell the eucalyptuJj oil found in the trade instfead bf outj Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences .would not be serious j but as the qualities of both ,bf the pro* ducts are in many cases directly op* posed to one another; we consider it our duty to direct the. public attention to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to b& of value as a niedicathent in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a ihedicameht roust ini crease inflammation' and it is evident that in Cases of woiinds, colds} bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains! &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseased beiiig unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, ah application of the i oil instead of our eXtrsibt must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is foiittded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common tine, its market value being about threb shillings one pound weight. Our ek* tract consists of the evaporating par* tides of the gum leaves; soothing and healing in its effects* its price being twenty-fonr shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half* ounce and one dunce vials; vials bear* ing on the labels our trade mark and signature.
