HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held at the Secretary's Rooms, last evening; present—Messrs Pearn (in the chair), Spyer, Toras, Morris, Agnew, and Kiely. A resolution was carried that the Secretary write to the Borough Council, and respectfully request a cheque for the subsidy promised for the past twelve months. The Wardsraan's Monthly Report of the number of patients admitted, discharged, and '.remaining under treatment for the month ending Jnly 5, 1881, was received. From it we learn that the number of patients admitted into the Hospital during the month, was five malea, the same number being discharged therefrom ; and the total number now remaining under treatment, in the Hospital is eight, all males. The Treasurer reported that there were not sufficient funds to the credit of the committee to meet the outsanding liabilities. It was resolvpd that the Secretary wait upon all persons who promised but have not paid their subscriptions. It was resolved that the annual general meeting be held in the Town Hall, on Wednesday, the 13th inst., at 8 o'clock p.m.; and that the Committee meet one hour before that time, to receive the Secretary's balance-sheet for the past year, and the sub-committee's general Report. The following receipts were handed in :—Mr Agnew, £2 ;Mr Kiely, £1 ; and the Secretary, £3 19s. After passing accounts for payment amounting to .£BS 7s 6d, the meeting adjourned.
