TO CORRESPONDENTS.

“ Peter Grant,” Liverpool Bill’s Gully.— We should have published your letter if it had contained what it purports by the heading you have given to it to contain, viz., “ County Councillors’ Intrigues”—always providing, of course such charges had any ground of truth in them, and are free from personal abuse and invective ; but, after carefully reading it through, we find nothing in the letter corresponding to the heading, nor any attempt to expose the “ corrupt and secret practices on the part of our public institutions ” which your long communication starts off with. Neither is there anything in your epistle of any public interest to the people of this district. It is therefore declined.
