BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, J une 6. At a meeting under the auspices of the Ladies League, held at Tulla to-day, Miss Paruell, in a speech which she made on the occasion, counselled the people to adopt measures to completely ostracise the police in Ireland. June 8. Accounts to hand to-day from Ireland, continue to give further evidence ot the alarming state of the country. Numerous further arrests of prominent agitators and suspected persons have been made during the past few days, under the Coercion Act. Active steps are being taken by the authorities to stop all meetings called together by the Land League. A large number of people assembled yesterday at Mulliugar, in County Westmeath, but the police were despatched to the scene and the meeting was prohibited and the crowd dispersed. Tenders for the New South Wales loan of £2,050,000, to bear interest at the rate of four per sent., were opened to-day. The total amount offered was found to be £4,000,000. Tenders at £lO3 and upwards, will receive allotment in full. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, June 8. The secretaryship of the Victorian Racing Club, vacant by the death of Mr Bagot, has been offered to Mr Byron H. Moore, lessee of the Melbourne Exchange. It is thought he will accept the post.
