THE STATE SCHOOL PRIZES.

[to the editor.] Mr Editor —Arrah bad luck to that ugly brother o’ moine, to be after trying to do me out o’ me job, and telling yez never to moind me at all at all. Dassent he know that it’s not a bal-ance-shate I wants at all. Be dad, sure, and it’s only the three items I wants, as I can make a balance-shate for myself widout troubling the jintlemau, as Pat sames so anxious about.

Give us the items, your worship, if yez have em; and divil the bit o’ notice do ye£ take o’ Paddy l , he isat hisself half his toirae, or he wouldn’t be after poking fun at his ignorant brother Mikky. A Constant Reader, S.P.—Tell Paddy I laughed, little Barney laughed, and Biddy farly cried with laughing* when we read his letter. [to the editor.] Sir—l am informed that I am credited by a large portion of the community with being the author of the letter, which appeared in your issue of Friday ot Saturday* I really forget which, signed “ Paddy.” In justice to myself I beg to state, through you, that I neither wrote nor saw the letter, nor yet had I any knowledge of it; neither had 1 ever written a single letter to the Kumara Times since it has been in existence; but when I do, I will sign it honestly, Alfred [ln justice to Mr Skilton, who seems to have suffered much annoyance and Vexation in consequence of the imputation* we emphatically certify that he was not the writer of the letter referred to, and wo do not believe he knew anything at all about it.— Ed. K.T.]
