Messrs Pan is, Pennell, and Honi Pihame, left by the Hawea, for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Hokitika, with the object of paying a visit in connection with the liberation of the Maori prisoners, which, it is understood, will ensue, if they report favorably as to the state of mind of the prisoners, and whether they are likely to behave themselves if liberated. pied by Mrs Cosier, (milliner); Whitehead (tobacconist); Cole, (basketmaker) ; Mason Bros., (hair-dressers) ; T. Horris, (tobacconist); and Patterson’s store and stables. Fortunately no horses were in the stables, but little or nothing was saved from any of the shops except Payne’s.
