The Oxford and Cambridge University boat-race took place to-day over the usual coarse on the Thames, and resulted in an easy victory for Oxford by three lengths. It is announced that the Duke of Argyle has resigned his position as Lord of the Privy Seal in the Ministry. His Grace’s resignation is due to a difference of opinion with his late colleagues as to certain provisions of the Irish Land Bill, which has been introduced into Parliament. A bulletin issued this morning states that Earl Beacousfield’s relapse has left him exceedingly weak, and uneasiness is expressed as to his state. The envoys of the Powers to the Porte have had under their consideration the circular recently issued by the Greek Government, justifying its refusal of the offer made by Turkey for the settlement of-the frontier difficulty, and, in reply, the Ambassadors have sent a circular note to the Hellenic Government peremptorily notifying, as a final' decision, that it has been determined that the extended Greek frontier shall alone consist of the Province of Thessaly, with a atrip of country in South Epirus, including the town of Previsa, on the northern shore of the Gulf of Arta.
