In view of the possibilities of hostilities breaking out between Turkey and Greece, the Sultan has asked the Ehedive that a contingent of the Egyptian troops may be sent for service in Turkey if war should be declared. News has been received to-day from Basutoland reporting the resumption of hostilities between the Basutos and the Colonial forces, and a severe battle has been fought between the latter, under Colonel Carrington, and the enemy, but without any decided success to either side. The Colonel was somewhat severely wounded during the fight.Sir Hercules Robinson made a speech to-day, in the course of which he said there was every prospect of peace being secured in the Transvaal.
