Attention is drawn to the fact that in all the important Races, both in Australia and New Ze.iland, a large proportion of the Horses originally nominated are subsequently struck out of their engagements, and therefore the drawers of non-starters in nearly all other Consultations receive but a very trifling and almost infinitesimal amount each, and in many instances they receive actually LESS than the amount of their aplication fee for a non-starter.
