ASSESSMENT COURT.
Wednesday, March 9. {Before H. A. Stratford, Esq., Judge.] The following objections were heard and dealt with : Carl Schnltheia, chum to be placed on Valuation Roll as owner and occupier of section 27, Seddon street,—Not sustained, John Foreman, appeal against valuation on grounds of excess.—Valuation sustained, as application informal. M. Hyndman, claim to be placed on Valuation List as occupier of section 800, Seddon street.—Not sustained, as land on Kumara Education Reserve, and not under provisions of sections 4 of the Act. Michael Maloney, claim to be placed on Valuation List as owner and occupier of section 315, Seddon street.— Not sustained, on same grounds as previous application. John Manson, objection on grounds of excess of valuation.—Valuation sustained, as application informal. R. J. Seddon, objection to exces of valuation of Hotel .£45, and store £2s.—Store valuation reduced to £ls ; Hotel valuation sustained. George Simmons, claim to be placed on Valuation Roll as owner and occupier of section 264, Seddon street.— Claim not sustained, on grounds that the Education Board does not lease the sections to applicant. Willian Finlayson, claim to be placed on Valuation Roll as owner and occupier of a portion of section 42, Seddon street.—Application struck out, as informal. Robert Brown, objected on grounds of excessive valuations on property on section 42, Seddon street, 55 Main street.—The first objection not sustained; valuation of property in Main street reduced to £2O.
Richard Brady, claim to be plnced on Valuation Roll, as owner of property on South Town Belt.—Application not sustained. % . James S. Jolly, similar claim.—Application not sustained. George Tnga.ll, claim to be placed on Valuation List as occupier of a'~lionse on section 106, Seddon street.—Application not sustained. The School Commissioners Of Westland, objection to Valuation List on grounds that their names were inserted as occupiers of property* which property was occupied by others—Case adjourned to the 23rd inst., to ascertain what points the Borough Valuator and the Commissioners could agree on | but at the same time it was agreed between the Borough Valuator and the Secretary to the Education Board that the names of persons proved to be leaseholders should be inserted on the Valuation List before it was confirmed.
