pURE VOLATILE GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under tho distinguished patronage of his Majesty the Kiug of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-Geaeral for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign/ / Affairs, dated 14th March, 1'87& , / We are informed that dealers in* ! mcdicnc often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our'' Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case ia concerned, the consequences would not be serious l but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider rfr our duty to direct the public attention ' to the following facts : ..! The eucalyptus oil is recorded to 06 .: of value as a medicament in cases of : rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect .'.", upon the skin. , Any blistering brought on by- ! the-' " application of a medicament must in- ; '' crease inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds-: bronchitis, diptheria, croup, .' : i'c.j the curative power of our, extract/. ! ' on the named diseases being unques-.-«j tioriably proved by former publications ; in this paper, an application of the* oil instead of our extinct must impair.'' the diseased.. . "•.'■'_'' The truth of our assertion is foundb-i upon the fact that the oil is a resinous 1 product, equivalent to common tine, its market value being about thre6 1 shillings one pound weight. Our ex- - tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its its price being ' twenty-fonr shillings for one pound ! weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one lialf--1 ounce and one ounce vials ; vials bear r [ ing on the labels oiir trade mark and signature. SAND ER arid SONS, Sole turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M/LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand: The Extract of the Eucalyptus Gloi ' bulas, manufactured by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials:— Epitome of declaration made befcrS Moritz Cohn, J.P.; on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst :—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Iron bark, for nine weeks; and declared tliat amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and tons, procuring seme of their Extract of the ' Eucalyptus Globulus, and> by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortni-rht out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News:— Mr Giescheu, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. , The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief; Cured after taking extract internally for six mouths. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Lon« Gully, applied the extract, and the slccident did not even necessitate as much. as an interruption in his attendance at work.
Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbid (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered id the bend of the knee from a swellin* which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December 1 * 1877, states:—Last week the eldesfe boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night\ crying with earache. The extract was ' applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale A gout for Few £eaknd\
