THE TRANSVAAL DISASTER, Capetown, February 28. Further telegrams to hand from Natal fully confirm the previous announcement of the disaster to the British troops in the Transvaal. The British resisted the attack of the Boers until their ammunition was exhausted, and the small force which was then left was then compelled to retreat. The enemy f .llowed in pursuit for some distance, but were checked by the guns from the camp at Mount Prospect, where the stragglers from the defeated force are now arriving safely. + LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. It is announced that Government intend to try Raymond's phosphor-sed oats, in their endeavors to exterminate the rabbit pest. Sydney, March 1. Intelligence from Temora states that a number of miners are leaving there for the Mount Poole diggings, in the Grey Ranges.
