NOTICE pURE VOLATILE EUCALtfPTtM y GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Mel bolt me, Upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878; "We are informed that dealers in hiedicne often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in shch a case is concerned, the consequences would hot be serious; but as the qualities of both' of the products are in many cases directly posed to one another; we consider it onr duty to direct the public attention to the following facts : The eucalyptus oil is recdrded id bq of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing; blistering effect upon the skin. Ally blistering brbught on, by the application of a medicament must increase inflammation; and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds; colds; bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains; &c, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the" oil instead of our extract ihUst impair the diseased. The truth oil our assertibii is founded npon the fact that the oil is a resiuous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; Our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gain leaves; soothing and healing iti its effects; its price being twenty-fbnr shillings for one pound weight; Our extract, the genuine article, is only made lip in due halfounce and bne' dunob vials j Vials bearing oh the labels oUr tirade mark and signature; SANDER and SbNS, Sblfe Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. ' The same gentleman. suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cared after taking extract internally for six months. A man havlrig his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much. as an interruption in his attendance at worki Mrs Weppner, in Colbihabbia (Runnymede) informed the manufac* turers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs toe Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought, information of a cure, of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family df Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work* She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache.
