We are informed that dealers' hi tried icne often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade. instead df bur Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a. base is cbhcerMd, thb consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cased directly dpi posed to one another, We consider it oUr duty to direct the public attention, > to the following facts : ' ,/•'■' The eucalyptus oil is recorded td be of value as a medicament in cases bf * rheumatism of secondary nature; arid manifests a drawing; blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought ori bjr the application of a medicament tiiust increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds; colds, &c, the cufative power df pur extract ou the named diseases being unquesv tionably proved by former publications in this paper, an, application df the'' oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is fotittded . upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight. Our extract consists „of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves; soothing arid healing in its effects* its price being twenty-fonr shillings for one pound weight. Onr extract, the genuine article, is only inade up in one halt ounce and one ounce vials • viais bear- "• ing on the labels oUr trade mark and signature. • . ■*:■'■.■■ s SANDER arid SONS, Sole.Matiufacr; turers bf the Eucalyptus Extract; Sandhurst* November* 1878; DUNCAN M'tEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand* • * ■ The Extrabt of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured Jsdlely by Messrs Sauder and Sons* Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declara> tion and testimonials i*— ; ;;- / JEpitdme of declsirajbiott madebefore Moritfc Cohn* £R* ' 1877, at Sandhurst gentlemen, had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of trdribark, for and declared 'that amputaftori of *tß& '■'* leg injured by in : «$ was absolutely; necessary;' At.thTa junction Mr Raabe - called on Messrs Sender arid £ons/prtik > curing some of .their.
