So far fts the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the' consequences would not he SferioUs J but as the qualities of both of the pro* ducts are in many cases directly op* posed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to' be of valUe as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing* blistering effect Upon the skin; Any blistering btdtiglit oh bjr the; application of a medicament must in* crease inflammation, and it is therefore' evident that in Cases of wouhda, colds* bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains* &c., the curative power of oUr extract on the named diseases being Unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product* equivalent to common turpen* tine, its toarket value being about threC shillings one pound weight. Our ex* tract consists of the evaporating par* tides of the gum leaves* soothing and healing in its effects, ite price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one halt ounce and One Ounce vials ; vials bear* ing on the labels oUr trade mark and signature-.
