NOTICE Pitre Volatile ‘ globxTlus extract. Under the distinguished patronage bf bife Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome* according to commUnicatibU received from the Cousul-Gbueral fot Italy, at Melbourne* upon instructions from the Ministet for Foreign Affairs* dated lith March, 1878. We are informed that dbalerS id ihedicne often try to sell the Uubalyptad Oil found in the trade instead 6f our Eucalyptus Extract., So far Us the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the ' consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly Opposed to one another, we Consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded tb bd of valite as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nattire, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any .blistering brought btt by tbd application of a medicament nui'st increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that'in eases Of wounds, colds* bronchitis* diptheria, croup* sprains:* &c., the curative power of pur extract on the named diseases being tionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is folihded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about threb shillings one pound weight; Our extract consists of the evaporating parotides of the gam leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twehty-fonr shillings for one pound weight. Onr extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one halfoilnce and oue ounce vials j vials bearing oh the labels ohr trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Mahufac* tui-erS of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst* November, 1878. Duncan m‘Lean* Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus Old 4 bulus* manufactured Jsolely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials :~ Epitome of declaration made before Moritis Cohn* J.P.* on the 17th October* 1877, at Sandhurst s—“ Three inediCal,gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Iron bark* for nine weeks* and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary; At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and* by the application of the same he bad the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger* and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News:— Mr Gieschen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief; Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. ' Cared after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm braised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabhin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, batcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Eickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling 1 which-had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending ' to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December* 1877, states;—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract Was applied, and the little fellow was cured*, and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M‘LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand;
