Sydney, February 10. The Hon, John -Watson, Col. Treahis financial statement in the Legislative Assembly last night. He estimates the revenue for the year at £5,440,000, and the expenditure at £5,232,000. No material changes are proposed in the Estimates of expenditure, except the reduction of one-third, in the immigration vote. Mr Watson announced that the railways of the Colony are paying 4| per cent, on the capital sunk in their construction. He disclaimed any intention on the part of the Government to raise a new loan in the London market at present, but stated that a loan for £600,000 might possibly be issued in the Colony at an early date.

News has been received that gold has been discovered on the Barrier Ranges on the western border of this Colony. The appearances are said to be very promising and there is every prospect of great rush.
