PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rptne, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign-: v Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in tnedicne often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of bur Eucalyptus Extract. So far .as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the * consequences would not be but as the qualities of bdth of ducts are in many cases directly? op-, ■. posed to one another, we consider ,it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts ; . , ■'- < The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be i , of value as a medicament in cases of. rheumatism of secondary nature, and ;' manifests a drawing, blistering effebt upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the-, application of a medicament must in-‘ - crease inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains, &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, an application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. ’ ' / The truth of our assertion is founded * upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product, equivalent to common turpen* . tine, its market value being about three' • shillings one pound weight. Our jextract consists of the evaporating par* , tides of the gum leaves, soothing and V healing in its effects, its price being twenty-fonr shillings' for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one hajf- ■ ounce and one ounce vials) vials bear- ' ing on the labels bur trade' mark and • signature. - SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufac* 1 turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. ‘ - Sandhurst, November, 1878. *" 4 DUNCAN M‘LEAN,; Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. i The Extract of 'the Eucalyptus Glo~ hulas, manufactured (solely by Messnr Sander • and Sons, Sandhurst, recom- - mends itself by the following declaray tion and ■ _■ ! Brief Extracts from the Bendigo*- - , Evening News Mr Giesohen, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severecold in November, could scarcely, breathe, and: could get no relief. Cured after * three applications of the extract. • ■ The same gentleman suffered bight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised' severely at a crushing machine; in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the ac- ■ cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in hfs attendance at work. ~ Mrs Weppiier; in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, w s h,o had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November, Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, l£acfc Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place, ' in the family of Mr Ryan, batcher, of Back Creek. , ; The wife of Mr Fickel, suffered ih the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of 'considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times; of Ist December, 1877, states:—Last week‘ the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the nijght crying with earache. The extract, was, applied, and the little fellow was cored and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M‘LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
