Time I6nj. fta Ross easily beat Riley, who beat FeOlOy and Largan. In the third race, Hosmer, of Boston, won; Warren Smith, of ■ Halifax, second, Anderson, of Hammersmith, third. In the fourth race, THckett won, Nicholson, second, Clasper third. On the 19th, in the first trial heat, Wallace Boas, of St John,won the beat by a length ; Hosmer, of Boston.,. Laycock drew away from the others gradually, and at Barnesbridge he was three lengths ahead of them all. His victory was enthusiastically cheered, and is attributed to his superior; condition. Ross fouled Laycock above Chiswick. Laycock then took the lead, and he not only won on the fool, but won the race handsomely by seven length in 26m. 435. Hosmer was a good third. Lay-, cock, Australian, carried off the first prize of £SOO ; Ross, second, winning £3OO ; Hosmer, third, winning £l6O jV* and Smith fourth, winning £4O.
