The Kelly gang shot a man dead at Sebastapool yesterday, and kept a number of pclico prisoners for twelve hours. June 28. Ned Kelly has been captured by the police. Others of the party have since made their appearance at Sebastapol, and have bailed up a public-hou.se in this neighbourhood. Their capture is expected to be made during the day. Ned Kelly waa mortally wounded in the gioin during the light at daylight this morning, and was captured. Dan Kelly, Byrne, and Hart, then bailed up 25 civilians at Glengowan, and occupy the hotel near Glengowan Station. Byrne has been shot dead, aud Dan Kelly and Hart still occupy the hotel. The civilians have been released. Incessant firing is proceeding with the police. The outlaws who are wearing chain armour, are expected to surrender shortly. June 28. The man who was murdered, by the Kelly's, at bebastopol, on Saturday, was Sherrett, a selector, aud a former associate of the gang. He was recently employed by the police, four of whom were secreted in the honse, near the scene of the tragedy. Byrne aud the Kcllys compelled a German acquaintance to call Sherrett outside, when Byrne instantly killed him out of revenge. The police summoned them to surrender but they refused, and the Kellys then fired a volley and attempted to burn the house. They remained outside till the morning, when the disappeared. The police were inactive and their explanations are unsatisfact try. They rode to Beech worth in the morning, when the black trrcker's reported that the Kellys were seen at Murchison. It is rumored that the pursuing party have engaged the outlaws, and one of the pursuers is wounded. The police have surrounded the Kellys at Janes's Hotel, Glengowan, 70 miles from the scene of the outrage at Sebaslopol. Superintendent Hare is wounded in the arm. -The gang tried, to tear up the railß near Gieugowan, ahead of the special train, but were unsuccessful.

A later telegram to Melbourne from Echnca, states that Ned Kelly is lying at the Glengowan station mortally wounded, -tTones's Hotel, which is close to the station, is occupied by Dan Kelly and Hart. Government have sent a mortar -to Glengowan to dislodge the outlaws. The breastplates worn by the gang consist of ploughshares.
