NOTtCR PURE VOLATILE EUCALMtffI GLOBULUS EXTRACT; Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King of Italy> it Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for" Italy, at Melbourne, itpon instructions from the Minister For foreign , Affairs, dated Uth March, 1878 i We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylvp l tus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the com* mitting of imposition against the publid in such a case is concerned, the conse* qaences would not be serious ; but ai the qualities of both of the . products are in many cases" directly opposed to one • another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the fol» lowing facts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded td be of value as a medicament in cases ofrheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. ''•'*'" Any blistering brought on by the ap* plication of a medicament must increase inflamation> and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bron-> chitis, diptheria, croup, sprains &c.j the curative power of our extract.on the named diseases being unquestion i ably proved by former publications in, this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded npon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpen* tino, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight j our ex* tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, v is. only''made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ;. vials ing on the labels our trade niark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extracti Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globu« his, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recoup mends itself by the following declara* tion and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October", 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mi* Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg in* jured by an axe was absolutely neces* saiy. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, .and by the ap* plication of the same he had the satis» faction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has no* quite recovered." Brief Extracts from, the Bendlgo Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Syden*ham Gardens, bad a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured aftef three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving reliefi Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his <arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the ac* cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in hia attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufac* turera that the extract applied twice restored health to her danghter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell* ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states ; Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cared and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for Ne* 2eaka4
