The match between the Australians and eighteen of North Ireland at Bel fast, was continued. The Home team in tlmir second innings scored 130. The Australians then went in, requiring to make 129 to win. When the stumps wore drawn they had made 74 without losing a wickot—Banneftuan being not out for 31; Murdoch, not out, 43.
It is stated Turkey will consider the decision of the Berlin Conference as not binding on herself, because she is excluded from taking part in the deliberations of the Ciinference. A general agreement among tbo members of the Conference is expected.
LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, June IG. Arrived—Ringarooum, from Auckland. The Colonial Treasurer introduced his Financial Statement in the the Assembly to-night, and said, in consequence of Parliament approving of only part of the proposals of lire last budget, and moreover largely in consequence of the decrease of revenue from land sales instead of surplus'than expected, there was a deficit of • £440,000. This will be covered by an export duty on wool—greasy, one farthing, washed and scoured, halfpenny; on horses and cattle exported, sixpence per bead; and royalty sixpence per ton on output of coal. The Government would re-introduce the Stamp Duties Bill, amended to accord with the views of the Council. The Treasurer estimates the revenue for the remainder of the year at £3,140,000 and expenditure at £2,800,000, and for next year estimates the revenue at £5,230,000. Melbourne, June IT. The Payment of Members Bill was again under discussion in the Legislative Assembly last night. An amendment was proposed by Mr Murray Smith, to exclude payment to members of the Legislative Council, but was defeated on division by 48 to 28. No progress was made with the measure, and Mr Williams, the member in charge, threatened to abandon it unless the House dealt rapidly with it. Angry scenes occurred in thb Chamber last night in consequence of the impediments placed in the way of the Bill passing.
