Ar, a result of the circular note which was sent by the British Government la>t month to rhuopean Powers, specifying the means for the solution of
the Greek, Montenegro, and Armenian questions, the Great Powers have now presented, a collective note, to the Sultan, informing him that he will be held responsible for the serious delay that has taken place with the cession of territory to Montenegro, and for his failure to execute the necessary reforms in Armenia. The note further states that the Groat Powers will insist on a strict execution of the Treaty of Berlin by Turkey. The Sultan has not yet replied to the note. Calcutta, June 12. The report which was recently circulated, to the effect that Ayoub Khan was making warlike preparations, to wrest Oandahar from the descendants of Shere Ali, is now confirmed. Latest intelligence from Afghanistan, however, states that, owing to defections from his supporters, Ayoub Khan's movement has now totally collopsed. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, June 14. Peter Lalor, member of the Assembly, and formerly Minister of Trade and Customs in the Berry Government, has called a meeting of his creditors.
