The men have, however, rejected a compromise, and the strike continues. A man has been arrested at Tumut on suspicion of being Joseph Byrue, the bushranger. He has been remanded for’identification by the police. A schooner arrived from Samoa, an 4 brings news of the shelling of the two principal Tillages by H.M.S. Dante.
