[UNITRD JPRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington June 6. The Hinemoa returned this morning from the search for the missing schooner Colleen Bawn, She visited several sounds and islands in the vicinity where the vessel was simposed to be lost, but without success. On Stephens Island some planking decking and a mast were found, but these are thought to be a portion of the schooner Merlin. The last heard of the Colleen was seen on the night of 6th May when she was spoken by a schooner. Old Jack, captain of the Colleen Bawn, then reported that one of the crew was sick, and was advised that as it was likely to be a dirty night it would be prudent to run to Port Underwood for Shelter. Subsequently a S.E. gale sprang’up--arid • it is supposed that the little vessel which was 16 years old, foundered. The crew Consisted of Captain Pyke, and 2 seamen. June 7. A private telegrani received in town states that a serious accident occurred at the Westport colliery.
