Melbourne, June 1. There are 51 (1) entries for the Melbourne Cup, and 25 for the Champion race, including Mata and Camballo. June 2. The party of police which left Benalla yesterday has arrived at Beechworth, but has seen nothing of the Kellys. The debate on the Reform Bill in the Legislative Assembly still continues. Sydney, June 2. News has been received via Solomon Islands that the foreign immigrants in New Ireland are in great distress, and suffering from fever and ague, from which four deaths have already resulted. Forty-five of the party have removed to the D uke of York Island. Six weeks after the party landed in New Ireland only three were capable of exertion, the rest were prostrated with fever and severe ulcers peculiar to the Island. They possessed no quinine with which to allay their sufferings; their supplies of provisions, too, were quite insufficient, the Chandernagore having sailed suddenly after a dispute as to the leadership of the party on shore, and left them without sufficient food. ANOTHER BANK "STUCK UP" BY BUSHRANGERS. .Sydney, June 2. The Commei'cial B*nk of Sydney at Quirindi has been robbed by four armed men, who wore masked. The manager of the bank was engaged feeding his horse at ten o'clock p.m., when suddenly he was bailed up, and compelled to open the safe, from which £4BB in gold was taken. The manager's wife and sister were covered by revolvers while the money was being taken. The robbers departed at one o'clock in the morning. The clerk was absent on leave, an r l the police were engaged on country duty.
