KUMARA PROSPECTING ASSOCIATION.

The first regular meeting of the Kumara Prospecting Association since its reorganisation was held at the Town Hall last evening; present—His Worship the Mayor (in the chair), Blake, Campbell, Mansfield, A. Miller, Dunjgan-, and Rudkin. The minutes ot the previous meeting were read and confirmed. An apology was read from Mr P. JBarrowman, regretting his inability to attend the meeting, which was received. The Chairman explained that the agreement between the association and the subscribers had been drawn up by Mr Perkins, the solicitor appointed for that purpose by the association, and had been numerously signed by the residents of the towu. The agreement was at present in the hands of the Committee appointed to canvass Dillman's Town and the goldfield generally. He also reported that the deputation appointed to wait on the Warden had met that gentleriian, who promised to give all th 6 assistance in his power to further the interests of the association. The following were appointed a subcommitee to assist the Secretary iti drawing up a letter to the Warden, viz., the Chairman, and Messrs Blake and Dungan-. It was resolved that seven members form a quorum at all future meetings of the Committee, and that any member absenting himself from three consecutive meetings be struck off the roll. It was resolved to hold a special meeting of the association at an early date such meeting to be called by the Secretary by advertisement in the KusiAtiA Times. The meeting then adjourned.
