Leather is steady at llfdper lb. At the wool sale to-day 12,100 bales were offered, making a total of 184,000 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the market Was firmer. There was a fair demand for locks and pieces. The Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone has written a letter to Count Karalzi, the Austro-Hungarian Ambassador, expressing deep regret for the censure passed upon the foreign policy of Austria, which was uttered in default of the assurance how received that Austria has no desire to extend her rule to the Balkans.

May 11. Homeward mails, via San Francisco, were delivered in London to-day. Three per cent. Consols 99|-. Adelaide wheat, per 4961bs* 535, exship, warehouse 595. At the wool sale to-day, 10,200 bales were offered, making a total of 195,100 bales catalogued since the opening.
