NOTICE is hereby giveil that tbd Block of LAND described below has been, by resolution of the La»d Board, aiid with the assent of his Ex 4 Cellency the Governor, SET APART FOR OCCUPATION without pay* merit, tinder the “ Homestead system,*? in accordance with the provisions of Appendix L of « The Land Act, 1877,” and subject to the following conditions as to cultivation and residence (1.) The area allowed to he selected by eaCh person of the age of eighteen years or upwards shall be fifty acres, and for persons Under eighteen jrears of age twenty acres : Provided that the total quantity to be selected by any one family or numbef of persons . occupying the onb household shall not exceed two hundred acres of lahd; (2;) Within three months after thb selection has been approved by the Board the selector shall commence to reside oh his select tion, and shall continue to re* side continuously thereon for ' five years from the date of such . approval as aforesaid. (3.) Within eighteen months hftetf such approval the selector shall erect on his selection a permanent dwelling-house of ivood of other materials, which Shall be specified in regulations to bo issued in reference to home-stead system selections (4;) In each year there shkll bB brought Under cultivation onefiftefenth of the area- of such, selection if. open land* and twenty-fifth if bush land; so that at the end of the term of five years one-third of the selection Of OpOn land* of one-fifth if hush land, shall be under duU ’ tivatiori; (5.) Font thousand (4000) acres (more or less), being homestead block numbered one (1) on the. map of the Mahihapua and tho Kanieri Survey Districts* bounded towards the northeast by tions 1737, 1120, and 1118* and by the road along the south side of the Kokatahi river, towards the south-east by the Hokitika flat track, towards the south-west by vthe GK track* and towards the north-west by the road along the Hokitika river, and section 1152. And in persuabce of another resolution of the Land:Board, the said land is hereby declared open for selection under the said provisions on the 19 th day of May, 1880. j. GILES.
