BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, May 6. The Right Hon. G. J. Goschen proceeds to Constantinople, as Special Ambassador to the Porte during the absence of Sir Henry Layard on leav.e. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, May 6. A telegram has been received from London, stating that the Australian team play their first match against the gentlemen of Hampshire at Southampton, on the 18th inst.
May 7. Five hundred thousand pounds having been subscribed, the Meat Freezing Co. will immediately commence operations.
