P?he resignation Jof Henry Adams, of Nelson, of his appointments as Crown Solicitor and Crown Prosecutor have been accepted. 'A number of forged or rather converted notes have been put in circulation in Dunedw, and several have been victimised by them. Original LI notes have been altered toLsand 110 notes, and to prevent suspicion as to the high numbers the last figures have-been skillfully oblierated. It is said ihat there is great difficulty in detecting the forgery unless the notes are held up to the light, when the thinner part of the paper where the figures have been altered becomes apparent.
