NOTICE. DURE VOLATILE-EUCALYPTUS * GLOBULUS EXTRACT, Under the distinguished patroii'ige o£ his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealer id medicine often try to sell the tug oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the com'mitting of imposition against the publio in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not .be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase inflamation,'and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, dipfcheria, croup, sprains &C.J the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair tha diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common 'turpeatine> its market value being about threG shillings one pound weight; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract,. the . genuine article, is ouly made up in one half ounce and one oimce vials; vials Rearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract; Sandhurst, November, 1878. '*' DUNCAN M'LEAN, ',, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.

The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globus, lus, manufactured Solely by MessrjJ Sander arid Sons, Sandhurst, recom* mends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Morifcz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mi 4 Raabe; of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary: At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, pedicuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigd Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very .severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnyinede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow: In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fiekei suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell* ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awdke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DtfNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New ZealaneL
