LATEST ENGLISH NEWS. London, April 12. The elections are still proceeding. The Liberals have now gained 108 seats which were formerly held by Conservatives. The Times, in a paragraph to-day, states it is probable that the Earl of Derby will be appoiuted Secretary for the Colonies in the new Ministry. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Sydney, April 7. The following further Exhibition awards have been announced :—Walton, for basils, and Burt (of Dunedin), for a refrigerator, both first clas?. In the Legislative Council, last night, the Education Bill was passed through committee. Melbourne, April 12. Sugar market dull. Albany, April 13. The P. and 0. GVs steamship Hydaspes arrived in King George's Sound to day from Ceylon, with the inward Suez mails. The Hydaspes brings news that the P. and 0. steamer Travaiacore had run ashore at Oaianto, on the Italian coast, a few milea south of Brindisi. She was expected to become u total loss.
