BRITISH AND FOREIGN.
LoNDoff, April 3. The Liberals gained nineteen seats to-day. Their total gains are fifty, while the Conservatives have only gained twenty. The late sitting mein* bers for Lambeth and the Tower Hamlets have been re-elected. For Marylebone. Liberals have been elected by a' large majority. Bradlangh, a Radical candidate, has been, elected for Northhampton by a large majority. The Right Hon. Mr Lowther, Chief Secretary for Ireland, has been defeated at Cork by a small majority. A change of Ministry is considered inevitable.
The Times, of to-day, publishes a paragraph stating that "it is probable that Earl Granville will form a new Ministry.
St. Petersburg, April 3. Relations between Russia and China ; are critical, owing to the latter having declined to ratify the treaty releasing Russia from restoring Kvddga. A report is current that Chinese troops have crossed the. River Amobr, thereby constituting open hostility to' Russia.
