T'he second day's races was as great a success as the first. The weather was splendid, the company numerous, and all the events well contested. About one o'clock the bell fang out for first, event, the

Satellite bad the call in the betting. After a false start, Mr Seaton got the horses well away. together, and Robin Hood followed by Warrigal, Native and Satellite, with the King as whippy up. In this order they passed the post the first time round. When half way round the second time, Satellite challenged Native, and overhauled Mr Jones’s favorite. The outlaw still leading till coming up the straight,

when Satellite was let out, and an exciting race ensued between Stevenson’s surprise and the outlaw. Loud cries of “ Robin Hood wins/* and “ it’s Satellite’s race,” was heard all over the course, and the excitement was intense, but the grey bad more in him, and passed the outlaw about 50 yards from the winning post, both horses being hard whipped. The race was clone in very quick time.

Hack Each Handicap, of 15 sovs—miles; entrance, 1 sov; post entries; for all horses that have not won public money, hack races excepted. Rata 9st 51b ... ... ... 1 Redan Bst ... ... ... ... 2

Eddy 7st 21b .. | ... 3 Royalty, Queen Bee, and Beautiful Star also started.

Redan led for some distance* when Ratta and Queen Bee collared him, but it soon became evident that Rata was too much for his companions* and he .won as he liked in a canter.

Grey Valley Stakes Handicap, of 30 sovs—miles. Mr Nottle’s b g Blazing Star, aged, 6st 1 libs ... ... ... 1 Mr Brirable’s b g Whalebone, 5 yfs 7st4lbs ... ... 2 Mr Stevenson’s b m Rore, 3 yrs, 7st 101b5... ... ... ... 3 Satellite and Falcon were scratched. Both Rore and Blazing Star were made hot favorites.

The race may be shortly described. Mr Nettle’s game and henest little horse, following his usual tactics, forced the racing from the start and was never headed ; the only horse that had any show with him was Whalebone, who, at one time, pressed him rather hard, but the race was never in doubt, and the Star won by several lengths. The game little horse, “ the pet of the Valley," was loudly cheered on weighing in.

Robin Hood was made the favorite. This race was a most hollow affair. The outlaw is a splendid mover over sticks, and nothing else had a ghost of a show. Satellite baulked and bolted, and the outlaw won easily, half the course separating the first and second horses.

Forced Handicap, of 20 sovs; miles, for all winning horces, except hack races.
