NOTICE. pXJRE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS - GLOBULUS EXTRACT, Under th'e distinguished patrori&gS of his Majesty the King of Italy, it Rome, according to communication, received from the Consul-General foi ; Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruct tions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 18?8. We are. informed that dealers id medicine often try to sell the eadylyp* tus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the oonu mitting of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; but aa the qualities of both of the products are in niany cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:— The eucalyptus bil is recorded to be* of value as a medicament in case 3 of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains &c. t the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our ex?, tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price Being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials beari ing on the labels our trade mark and c signature:

The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globus lus, manufactured solely by Messrs' Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mi* ftaabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg ini jured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the' Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application o£ the same lie had the satis* faction of seeing his son within a fork night out of all and he has now quite recovered;" Brief Extracts fronl the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbioabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium Caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in\ the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by .a continued applica* tion of the extract. . The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states-.-Last week, the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the, uighfc. Crying with earache. The extract waa applied, and the. little fellow and asleep in ten minutes.
