NOCTURNAL, DISTURBANCES IN SEDDON STREET.

[to the editor,]

Sir—Forbearance is a virtues, but all things must have an ending. What are the police about half way tip Seddon Street 1 'The inhabitants are night after night disturbed by quarrels between. a man and his wife. Language of the most filthy and revolting nature is indulged in, and talk about Tipper* ary stone throwing, ’tis a fool to it. Even when death with all its solemnity existed in the locality, this did not jpreyeht the fighting going on, and those watching the dead and those suffering from their sudden bereavement were still. further to suffer by being disturbed by the ba'd conduct alluded to. The Bench not long ago fined a medical than for, using bad, language which could be heard in the street • but the language then indulged in was refinement itself in comparison with that that used by the parlies alluded to. Also, the same parties are bo’find over to keep the peace, yet one of them was fighting within a public hottse the night before last. The polite nuisfc have heard of it, yet no notice was taken of the affair; and so things are allowed to go on. In writing this, I do So with a view of putting down what has become, a crying scandal and nuisance to the neighbourhood ; and if this means has not the desired effect, I shall put myself in communication with the Inspector of Police, for I abi one determined to see that the law Shall be complied with,- even though 1 am compelled to jaV the information myself. Mr Scott has proved, by example jand forbearance, to be a thorough Christian and good heighbour. Not being of the black cloth, I can’t stand it any longer.—l am, &c., Rufiicotf Passed.
