The other day, says Troth, she addressed an audience of working-men on the waste of money and loss of time caused by drinking and smoking, but her peroration was interrupted by a ludicrous incident which was the more unpleasant, as it left, her with no dignified or adequate retoit. " Ah, missus !" shouted one of the hearers, " where'ud you be if us didn't drink 1 It's all along of us drinking as the Buxton's be bo fine; you'd be a wuss off without it, now wouldn t you ?"
