So fat aS the Committing of imposition against the public in such a ease is concerned, the consequences -would not be serious ; but a& the qualities of both Of the products are in many Oases directly opposed to onO another, we consider it Our dirty to direct the public attention to the following facts c The eucalyptus oil is recorded to bO of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increas'd inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wohnds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains &c.j the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being,/Unquestionably proved by former publications id this paper. An application of the oil instead of out extract must impair thd diseased. The trhth of our assertion is fotiiided upon the fact that the oil is a resinouS product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three, shillings one pound Weight; oiir eartract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaVes, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only , made dp in one halt Ounce and one ounce vials; vihls bearding on the labels our trade mark and signature. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globiilus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaratioii and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.R, on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst:— u Three medical gentlemen had attended, the son of Mb Raabe, of Ironbark, for nttie weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg in l jured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called On Messrs Sander and Sons, pro l curing some of their Extract of th’o Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the Up l plication of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight oiit of all danger, and he has no# quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from tlie BendigO Evening News:— Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. CUred after three applications of the extrabt. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A matt, having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, ib. LOng Gully, applied the extract, and the ac l cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mi's Weppubr, in Colbinabbid. (RUnnymede) informed the manufaci turers that the extract applied twicO restored health to her daughter* eleven years of age* who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow; In November Mrs Reeves* from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium cansed by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher) of Back Creek. The Wife of Mr EiCkel stifiefed iit the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of Considerable size* disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swell l ing completely by a continued applies tion of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist LJecOmber) 1877, states Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache.
