N O T IC E. . >ure Volatile ectcaltiWS globulus extract; Under the distinguished patronage bt his Majesty the King of Italy, at Rome, according to cdmmunicatidii received froth the Consul-General fdfc Italy, at Melbourne, Upon instruct tions from the Minister For Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878; We are informed that dealers ifi medicine often try to sell the eacylvptus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the com* mitting of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned* the conse^ qnences would not be serioUs • but an the qualities of both of the products are in many bases directly opposed td one another, we consider it our duty td direct the public attention td the fol» lowing facts:—- ' _ The eucalyptus bil is recorded td be of value as a medicament in cases o{ rheumatism of secondary nature* and manifests a drawing* blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought oh by the plication of" a medicament toust increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that iti cases d£ wounds, colds, chitis, diptheria* croup", sprains &c.j the curative power of dur extract oil the named diseases being tinquestion*ably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of out extract must impair the diseased. The truth Of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinoud product equivalent to Common. tux-pen* tine, its market Value being about three shillings one pound weight; our ex* tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract* the genuine article* is only made up in one half! ounce and one ounce vials j vials bear* ing on the labels our trade mark and signature-. Cured after taking, extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the a:c* cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. i Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a enre of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek.
