A BRAVE LADY.

In our Australian cablegrams yesterday it. was mentioned that Mrs Boldt, wife of the captain of the German ves* eel Moorburg, which recently arrived in Hobson's Bay, had been presented with a purse of sovereigns in recognition of her bravery in assisting to navigate the Moorburg into port. The Melbourne Argus reports that a meeting of German gentlemen was also held recently, at the rooms of the German Association, to consider how the ieroic conduct of Mrs Boldt during^e"recent voyage of the Moorburg from China to Australia, could be duly acknowledged. Mr Brahe, the German consul, presided, and gave a short history of the incidents of the voyage, compiled from the ship's journal and other sources, from which it appeared that five seamen out of a crew of seven died during the voyage, and that the navigation of the ship, therefore, devolved upon the captain, mate, cook, and one able seaman ; that the ship encountered very bad weather, and that the continuous hard work soon prostrated the captain and the only surviving seaman. It was under these circumstances that Mrs Boldt showed an enormous amount of energy, and took her turn at the wheel whenever the survivors had to attend to other duties, in addition to her un-ceasing-attention to the sick and dyin». It was proposed by Dr. Jonasson, seconded by Mr Groener, and carried unanimously, that a present be made to Mrs Boldt, to give expression to the admiration of the contributors of that lady's energy and perseverance, to which the safety of the survivors and of the ship and cargo was mainly attributable.
